A couple of summer like storms blew through this week and it's hard to believe that it was happening in August. The build up of cloud in the storm front looked every bit the same as the classic mid summer thunder heads. Unfortunately we only picked up 6mm of rain and dare I say it but we could use some good soaking rain.
The weather has certainly been a bit unusual and a few of the signs I look for are well ahead of where they normally are. The seedhead on the fairways is normally treated in the third week of September but they were done this week. The Rainbow Bee Eaters are a month earlier than normal as are the sandflies!! Might be in for a long hot and dry summer. Twenty nine degrees in the maintenance compound today is a heck of a start to spring??
We got to the irrigation repair at 12W this week and it was amazing just how big the hole was under the path with nearly six metres of the path totally undermined.
The hole !! |
I’m off for a couple of weeks R & R so will be back in late September.
