Yes, thanks a lot to the very considerate person who decided to take this chunk out of the 3rd West green today. I realise the greens are frustrating at the moment just coming out of renovation but in my opinion this is about the worst breach of golfing etiquette a player can perform. Unfortunately we can't spell the greens during the year so this is the only break they get and unlike most courses we only have one major renovation on each course each year.
It makes you wonder why my staff and I go to so much effort on the golf courses sometimes when you see vandalism like this.
I am amazed that the West greens stand up to the wear and tear they get. Very few people (including members) repair their pitch marks. It would be wise if pitch mark repairers were provided free of charge rather than having to now pay $2.50 for something that cost only $0.50 at the start of the year. Anyway under the circumstances the golf course staff do a great job. If only the players followed suit.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more with Angelo. Come people don't deserve the privilege of playing here !!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your input Angelo. We have tried giving out pitch mark repairers in the past and it didn’t seem to make much difference. They hand them out at The Glades and their greens are nearly as bad as ours for pitchmarks. I will look into the possibility though and might look for some information on correctly repairing pitch marks to put on here.
